My New Years Resolutions 2016

Bonjour!
And yes, I did write '..... 2015' in the title box before I quickly changed it and I am sure I will not be the only one doing that for the next 3 months. Seriously. I still accidentally write 2013 or 2014 in my school books, its bad. Really bad.
Moving on.......
Happy New Year! I hope you had a good New Years Eve and today is going well. I thought what better way than start off a new year of blogging than sharing my New Years' Resolutions with you.
Before we begin, I'm not going to say 'to lose weight', even though I do want to lose a little bit, but its not that important to me. There are far more important things in life to deal with, famine, murder, terrorism, flooding, the list goes on. Wow, that turned dark quickly, good one Charlotte! Anyway, I mean it. Let's begin!

  1. Eat Healthier - I usually have pizza from the canteen for lunch at school, which is not very good for your health. So I am going to take packed lunches more often and try and not eat a lot of 'junk food'.
  2. Be More Active - I am quite lazy and I don't put a huge amount of effort into P.E, especially in the winter months. To become more active, I am going to try a bit harder and maybe take part in sports.
  3. Stay in Touch With Everyone - I'm not going anywhere but I don't think I talk to some of my family (and some of my friends) enough. Some of family live quite far away so I don't see them very often and I also don't talk to them a lot. I am going to try and speak to them at least once a week, because something could happen and I know I would regret it if I rarely spoke to them. *Once again, turning deep and sad*.
  4. Save Money - I am some-what of a mild shopaholic, but I am going to attempt to rid myself of that by rethinking before I buy something, whether or not I really need it, I will also refuse to buy things I don't need. *Nice bit of GCSE Textiles revision in there Charlotte, well done*.
  5. Stay Calm and Stress Less - I stress. A lot. Mainly about school, but it affects me all the time as I can't concentrate, sleep or really do anything when I'm stressed. So this year I thought it would be good if I found new ways of staying calm and try and organise my life ahead.
  6. Post Fairly Frequently of Here and on Instagram - sometimes I don't post on here or Instagram for quite a while, 2016 WILL BE THE YEAR OF CONSISTENCY! *I doubt it, but a girl can dream, can't she?*. On a serious note, I am already pre-planning and writing blog posts, so I don't fall behind.
  7. Read More - I need to read more often! The last novel I read was 'Girl Online : On Tour' in November, wow that's ages ago! I do need to read more as my teachers say "10 to 15 minutes of reading can help your English skills and expand your vocabulary". Needs must!
  8. Help People - I want to help people. I want to help my friends with their problems *you wouldn't believe how many my year group have had recently* and if they need help with their school work if they need it. I want to help my family at their business more often, as they are all very hard-working and I want to say thank you for all they have done for me *wow. Soppy or what?!*
  9. Drink More Water - I don't drink enough water. Simple. Water is good for you in some way, I don't know what, but it is! I think its supposed to be good for you skin and your brain...... not sure. I will look it up later.
  10. Get More Sleep / Go To Bed Earlier - I don't get a lot of sleep. I usually drop off at around midnight or later, which is VERY BAD! This results in me being tired at school and I can't concentrate. I don't know why I can't sleep until then. Might be stress, oh don't know!  I need to sleep for longer!
  11. Go Outside More - I am very much an indoor person, maybe the fact that my mum doesn't let me go outside on my own/without an adult, because of all these news stories you hear about kidnapped children etc., what a world we live in! Anyway, yes I do spend a lot of time inside and I don't usually leave the house unless I absolutely have to. I am going to achieve this by going out for the day with my family or friends and going for walks etc.
  12. Make Some Internet Friends - I know this can be very dangerous, but I think it would be fun to speak to other bloggers.
  13. Don't Be Scared - I am fairly shy and I worry about practically anything. I want to be able to be more confident around people I don't know too well and not worry what other people think of me.
  14. Make Sure I Eat Breakfast Everyday - Especially on school days. I usually have a glass of milk in the morning because I don't have a lot of time and I can't really be bothered to get anything. This is bad as I struggle to concentrate and I don't do as well as I could.
But, even after that very long list, my main resolution is to be happy. Mostly, they all link to this. I said at the start that weight didn't matter to me, but this does. Being happy won't just affect me. Everyone around me will be some-what better off because of this *mainly because they won't have to deal with my 'negative side'*. Being happy is very important, if that's the only thing you take away from this, please let it be that.

Bonne annee,
Charlotte <3

What I Got For Christmas 2015

Bonjour!
So I asked on Instagram if you would like me to do this post or not, and it was a yes. I kind of wanted to do it as I like reading (and watching) these all year round, for example when I'm looking for gift ideas for someone or writing my own Christmas list.
DISCLAIMER
I'm not showing off. I am writing this because people wanted me to. I am aware there are people who didn't get anything or got very little for Christmas and that makes me really sad and I realise how lucky I am. I am extremely grateful of everything I received. If you will find this in some way offensive, or if you have something mean to say about me writing this, then please go off this now.

I have sort of 'categorized' my presents, not sure if they make much sense though. I have written it so that there is an image then I have added links to the item if I could find them. I haven't specified who got me what as I thought it would be unfair in some way. Also, I haven't included all of my presents, like chocolate, PJs and other little things. But you will probably see them on my Instagram and future blog posts. I hope you enjoy!

Gifts from Friends

Sanctuary Spa 'Little Bag of Treats'

Dan & Phil Classic Black T-Shirt - I couldn't take a good enough photo, so I thought I would put in the one from the website.

Essie Winter Collection 2015
Maybelline Baby Lips Winter Delight 'Hot Cocoa'

Random
These are just a few of my presents I wanted to show, but didn't have a category for.

Mulan DVD - Shiny Packaging! - The weird thing is, I was going to ask for this, along with a couple other shiny Disney films, but I didn't in the end for some reason. Then my Auntie turned up with it! I can't wait to watch it!
SD Card Reader - This may not seem very exciting, but it will help me improve my photography, as it means I can take photos on my camera, not my phone, and I can upload them without having to email them to myself.
Cozy Socks - I got a few pairs this year and I love all of them.

I hope you enjoyed reading this! Comment what your favourite present was this year below!

Christmas Eve 2015

Bonjour!
Its the last day of #blogmas2015! I am quite impressed I have managed to this many posts, I have only missed four days. But it is only going to be a short post today, as I need to finish wrapping my presents and I would like to watch some Christmas specials on TV.
I am planning on doing a couple of posts before New Year. I was wondering if you would like 'What I Got For Christmas' post, because I'm not sure if I want to do it or not.
Anyway, seen as its Christmas Eve and the last day of Blogmas, I want wish you all have a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year.

Christmas Decorations 2015

Bonjour!
Welcome to #blogmas2015 day 23! There is only today and tomorrow left until Christmas!!!!!
Today I am going to show you my Christmas decorations!

The Trees
Okay, so this year, we have two Christmas trees, one in the living room and one in the kitchen and they are both artificial. The red and gold decorated tree is in the living room, which I decorated so it isn't amazing, and my parents bought the tree before I was born, so that's why its a bit thin. The purple tree is in the kitchen and my sibling decorated that one, but I prefer it to mine, ngl.

My Room
My room is quite Christmassy, but not as much as I would have liked. 2016 will be the year *hopefully*! Anyway, I have some cute little decorations in my room, which I don't think need an explanation.

(This is hung above my bed)

I thought I would show you mine, because I like looking at other people's Christmas decorations.  Anyway, if you have any ideas for blog posts in the future, please leave them in the comments, tweet me or message me on Instagram.

3 DIY Sugar Scrubs

Bonjour!
Welcome to #blogmas2015 day 21!
Arrggghhh..... its only 4 days until Christmas. Its gone too quickly! Anyway, arrggghhh...... again because I didn't post yesterday. I'm sorry, I was in serious planning mode and didn't leave anytime.
Today I am giving you 3 'recipes' for sugar scrubs you could make as a gift, or keep for yourself. They are festive, but I have some other recipes for others I may post in the future. But for now, I have a 'Peppermint Candy Cane Body Scrub', 'Sugar and Spice and All Things Nice Body Scrub' and a 'Peppermint Candy Cane Lip Scrub'. Let's begin!

Peppermint Candy Cane Body Scrub
You need:
  • Granulated Sugar
  • Sunflower Oil (or Coconut Oil if you have it)
  • Candy Canes (crushed into nearly a powder consistency)
  • Red Food Colouring
  • Two Bowls
  • Spoons
  • A Container
First, I used the granulated sugar to fill the container to about 2/3 full, I then split that into two halves, in the two bowls. Set one bowl aside. Crush your candy canes however you like until it is sort of powdery, then add that to the other bowl. Then add the food colouring and mix it together, only use a little bit of food colouring as it goes a long way. Set the red sugar bowl aside and get the bowl you set aside earlier. Add a bit of sunflower oil to this, don't add too much. You want it so that the sugar : oil ratio is 8 : 2. Mix together. Then get the red bowl and add the same amount of oil to it, as you did to the plain bowl. To get the 'candy cane' stripes, layer the colours by putting in a bit of red, then a bit of white, a bit of red and so on. Add a cute label, and ta-dah!

Sugar and Spice & All Things Nice
You need:
  • Granulated Sugar (brown/Demerara if you want)
  • Sunflower oil (or coconut oil)
  • Ground Cinnamon
  • A Bowl
  • A Spoon
  • A Container
Like the other, measure the amount of sugar by filling up the container to 2/3 full, then pour it into the bowl. Then add your ground cinnamon, add as much as you like. The more you put in, the stronger the smell, you might need quite a bit to cover the mild smell of oil (depends what you use). Then, like the other, add the oil, so that it is at a sugar : oil ratio of 8 : 2. Mix all together and add the container. Once again, add a label and you've done!

Peppermint Candy Cane Lip Scrub
You need:
  • Granulated Sugar
  • Vaseline
  • Candy Canes
  • A Bowl
  • A Small Spoon
  • A Small Container
Begin crushing the candy canes and try making enough to fill at least 1/3 of the container, add that to the bowl. Then measure 1/3 of the container with sugar, and add that to the bowl. Then get 1/3 of the container of Vaseline (try and melt it a tiny bit so it will mix better), and.... you'll never guess....... ADD IT TO THE BOWL! Then mix everything together and add it to the container. Ta-dah!

I hope you liked these!

Stocking Fillers Under £10 (for Girls) 2015

Bonjour!
Welcome to #blogmas2015 day 19! Its going so quickly and I have only missed 2 days, I am quite impressed with myself.
Anyway, today I thought I would give you some ideas of what you could put in a stocking for a girl, all of which are under £10 (most are under £5). You could swap out my ideas for something more or less expensive, depending on how much you want to spend.

Candles
Candles come in all shapes and sizes, from hundreds of places. Some are cheap and some are more pricey. In the photo I have 'Cinnamon Maple' from Primark, which was £1 and 'Christmas Cookie' in the small jar, from Yankee Candle, which was £8.99.

Body Shop Minis
(Or normal size). The Body Shop make really nice products all year round, at the moment they have Christmas/winter editions, but I sadly don't have any. In the photo, I have two Born Lippy lip balms (£2 each), a hand gel (£2.50 each) and a mini coconut shower cream (£2 each). They have a big range of products that all smell amazing! Definitely a good choice.

Lip Balm/Lip Products
As you may know by now, I love lip balms and most lip products in general. In the photo I have Baby Lips (£2.99 each) and there are limited edition ones for winter. There is also a Nivea lip butter (£2.09/£2.25 each at Superdrug but you can buy them in lots of places), you can get lots of different flavours, my favourite is Raspberry Rose. Finally, there is an EOS lip balm, you can buy these online and I think you can get them at Topshop. They are around £5-£8 each, depending where you buy them. I really like these and I would love to receive one for Christmas.

Fuzzy Socks
At Christmas, I love wearing my fuzzy socks. There are loads of different places you can buy them. I have a pair from Primark, which I love, that was about £2 and the ones in the photo are from FatFace and they were £12, which I don't think is to expensive for FatFace. I think these are a really nice gift to give as you wouldn't really buy them for yourself.

Soap and Glory
Soap and Glory at Christmas have so many good deals, especially at Boots. They have a set of 3 Hand Foods for £8, body mists for £6.50, a pack of 3 mini butters for £8 and much more. Plus, if you have multiple stockings to fill, you could buy a set and split it up. You could also put full sized products in as full sized shower washes are £6.50, as well as Hand Food and body butters. In the photo I have a mini hand food, a mini 'Butter Yourself' and a full size Hand Food.

Nail Stuff
Nail polish, nail polish remover, nail art tools, nail files, anything like that would be a great gift for a girl who loves doing their nails. I have a Rimmel London nail polish in Rapid Ruby (£2.99 at Boots), a box nail file from Boots and a Maybelline Dr. Rescue All in One top and base coat (£2.99 I think).

Food
Basically chocolate and sweets. You could have chocolate coins, candy canes, chocolate reindeer, whatever the person who you are making it for likes. I have added a chocolate Santa, a candy cane heart my friend's mum made and a candy cane.

Zoella Beauty
I adore Zoe's products. I got mine from Superdrug, there is a Fizz Bar from the original collection (£5), Blissful Mistful mist (£8) and a Candy Cream body lotion (£5). But I think anything from Zoe's range would be lovely to receive. Especially some of her new products and Christmas collection, which I am hoping to get for Christmas this year.

DVDs/CDs
CDs may not be as popular anymore, but I still like getting them. I have 1989 by Taylor Swift which I bought in the Black Friday sales. If you are a fellow YouTube-lover, you might know that Joe and Caspar released a film, I have added this is I hear its is really good, I have yet to watch it *I know!* but I haven't had time (but thank you for Christmas holidays!).

Body Sprays
I have asked for quite a few body sprays this Christmas, because I love them. You could maybe get some that are a little more expensive (i.e. Hollister or Victoria Secret) as it is a gift. I have Zoe's original body mist (£8), a I love... cosmetics spray in Strawberries and Cream (£2.99 from Superdrug) and a Vanilla one from Boots Extracts.

Bath Bombs
I love LUSH's Christmas products and they are perfect for stockings. I have Star Dust which was £2.95. I also have a bath bomb from Bomb Cosmetics in Let it Snow. I have also added a little bottle of Snow Fairy shower gel.

I hope you found this helpful!

Christmas Cards : The Struggle

Bonjour!
Welcome to day 14 of #blogmas2015!
Today I thought I would do a post that might make you laugh, or something that you could relate to. I did have another post planned, but the lighting in my bedroom is awful so you may have to wait for some of these other posts. Once again, I apologise sooooo much for th e bad photography on here.
Anyway, Christmas cards are very stressful. No matter how old you are. I didn't realise this until I had to write a lot this year. Let us begin!

Primary School
Reception
This was one of the easiest years to write for, seen as my teacher gave us a list of the people in the class. Simple.
Years 1-6
At this point you begin to make your own friend groups and they are really the only people you want to give a card to. But, nooooo. You must write everyone a card because, if you don't give a card to someone in a different friend group, you have fallen out with them and their 'posse', and at primary school, that IS NOT a good thing. This may result in multiple groups turning against you, and if someone from your friend group is friends with someone from another friend group you have fallen out with, you've lost them. Inevitably, you end up with about 3 friends. Merry Christmas!
Teachers
At primary school, we had to give most of the teachers a card, even if they hadn't really taught you, and I'm still not sure why. I believe it is because all the teachers talk to each other about students and it can be like yeas 1-6 all over again.
Secondary School
In secondary school, your year groups are far bigger and you can't give a card to everyone because, well, you'd be sat there writing 'To ........ Merry Christmas From .........' for hours on end. This is basically years 1-6 all over again. However, this may mean you have more friends, which is good, but too many cards!
Adulthood
Even though I am a good several years off, I still understand the struggle of being an adult writing cards at Christmas. I know this because, I remember sitting in the living room with my mum as she would sit for a hours a night writing cards, all with practically the same message. Furthermore, even though adults don't seem to talk to many other people, its like they send Christmas cards to everyone in the country! People who went to their wedding/christening of their child etc., 'friends' from secondary school who they haven't spoken to since, or, my personal favourite, relatives that you have never met, nor heard of before. I find it especially funny when my parents spend a while looking for someone's address, and you don't get a card back from them! That's Christmas for ya!

Although, I do love receiving cards from people and I do like sending them. Anyway, this is my first post like this, so I hope it was okay and not too bad. If you did like it, leave me something below I could talk about in the future <3

DIY Gifts for Friends

Bonjour!
Welcome to #blogmas2015 Day 13!
I love making gifts for my friends and family, so I am going to share some really quick and easy DIYs that you could make for your friends and family. Unfortunately, I haven't made any of these yet, but I will! I will post the pictures of them when I have made them, but for now, I will be using pictures from the internet.

1) Sweet Sleigh
I will be making these for my cousins this year. You may be able to tell how to make it, but, I'm going to tell you anyway.
First, you need to two candy canes and a KitKat (or something similar). Stand the candy canes facing up parallel to each other and place the KitKat on top, using tape to stick them together. Next, stack up more chocolate on top and tie ribbon around them. Then add a small chocolate Santa to the front.

2) For Your Mistle-Toes
This is a really easy simple gift I will probably be making for my Aunties and Grandmas. All you need is a small bag (a sandwich bag for example), a stapler, strong paper, felt tips and something to put inside. You can put any nail polish and maybe a foot cream or nail file. You could put some cotton wool in the bottom. Just make a label with the paper and pens and staple it over the opening of the bag.

3) Reindeer Noses
This is a really easy gift that I will probably make for my friend. All you need is a jar, Malteasers and a couple of red sweets of a similar size. Next, decorate the jar to look like a reindeer and fill it with the sweets. Ta-dah!

I hope you like these ideas and if you make them, tweet me it or tag me in it on Instagram!

Favourite Things to Do In Winter

Bonjour!
Welcome to #blogmas2015 Day 12!
I promise that new (and better) blog posts are coming and that they will be up earlier in the evening, but today, it is, once again, some-what rushed. Today I am going to share with you some of my favourite things to do in winter. Leave something you like to do in winter in the comments below!

1) Go Christmas Shopping
I love going Christmas shopping, even though I do most of it online, especially this year. I love it because it gets me in the mood for Christmas and I get excited to see all the shops decorated. Plus, I love buying things for my friends and family.

2) Baking
I love baking anytime of the year, but I especially love it around Christmas because it makes my kitchen smell amazing and it is nice to do something with my family. I love baking for/with other people as it is more fun and it makes me try a bit harder for them to be good, as I want to impress.
(I did a recipe for Christmas cookies this year, the link is here if you would like to read it)

3) Watching Christmas Specials and Christmas Films
I have already mentioned this in my Christmas/December Bucket List 2015 but I do love watching Christmas specials of TV shows (especially comedies) and I love watching Christmas films. I will have to have a Christmas Netflix movie marathon with my friends at some point.

4) Spend Time With My Family
I don't see my family that much because my parents work a lot and I have a lot of homework *thank you, UK government*, so at Christmas I like spending time with them. Whether that be watching TV and films, going out for the day or just sat around together *so soppy, I know* but its true. Like a lot of people my age, I don't spend enough time with my family, but around Christmas, I try and make up for it.

5) Gift Giving
I love giving gifts to my friends and family because, I like to think that they can know how much I love them *this post is so soppy*. I try and give gifts that mean something to that person, for example, if they tell me something I will most likely remember it and orientate their gift around it, even if they don't remember they told me.

Leave things you like to do in the comments <3
